Helping Non-profits Secure Federal Funding
Congressionally Directed Spending This Year Tops $16 Billion
Our agency works with many non-profit organizations – sometimes partnered with government and private sector businesses – and funding for meaningful programs and innovative projects is critical for their mission.
The federal appropriations process for Fiscal Year 2026 is wrapping up now, with 11 of the 12 spending bills signed into law and $16 Billion in projects supported by Members of Congress included. These Congressionally directed spending projects are across the board – for healthcare, energy, technology, education and workforce, rural development, and community development.
It is time now to start planning for the FY 2027 appropriation cycle that gets under way when the President submits his budget request to Congress for analysis and action.
Our Washington, D.C. office helps counsel multiple clients with federal competitive grants identification, federal appropriations and advocacy priorities. Mike Fulton, our Director of Public Affairs and Advocacy, is a former Capitol Hill staffer who worked on the House Appropriations Committee and his expertise in federal funding spans several decades.
His relationships, experience, success rate and access to policymakers and their staff open up this opportunity for our diverse clients at our full-service agency.
We are helping past and new clients develop eligible and compelling projects for submission to their members of Congress, as they open a portal on their websites to receive project proposals for Congressional support.
Examples of client projects we have helped make possible:
- $7.5 million for renovations to a campus building for a Rural Health Professions center of Excellence
- $4 million in past years for the same college to create nursing and physician assistant’s programs (equipment and faculty)
- $500,000 for a rural hospital to offer oncology treatment for cancer patients
- $1.5 million for a rural hospital to address substance use recovery and care
- $1.1 million for a rural community hospital to develop and operate a new medical clinic.
- $2.7 million for a community college to expand its nursing program into respiratory care (equipment and faculty)
- $2.4 million for a city to work with a healthcare provider to renovate facilities and provide equipment for a Food Insecurity project.
- $1.5 million for continued operations of a Pollinator Research, Education and Recovery Center
- $500,000 to install an elevator in a local museum to make it ADA compliant and boost access for all guests they can host in the historic home.
- $2.28 million for global lead pollution prevention in low- and middle-income countries, at the request of the battery industry and an international NGO that helps international leaders combat the effects of lead in their countries.
