Fitness, Nutrition, Nature Highlight Spring Progress for Asher Clients

This spring saw positive developments for three Asher clients:

  • American College of Sports Medicine: today released the 2019 American Fitness Index that ranks America’s 100 largest cities. Funded by the Anthem Foundation, the index evaluates America’s 100 largest cities using 33 health behaviors, chronic diseases and community infrastructure indicators. The top 10 were Arlington, Va.; Seattle, Wash.; Minneapolis, Minn.; San Francisco, Calif.; Madison, Wis.; Washington, D.C.; St. Paul, Minn.; Irvine, Calif.; Denver, Colo.; and Portland, Ore. This is the fifth consecutive year Asher has helped secure media coverage. USA Today was the first placement, a nice way to lead off the project. Will the 116th Congress hit a Wall even before it gets underway?

On Jan. 3, all 435 Representatives and one-third of the U.S. Senate were sworn in as members of the 116th Congress.

The transition will not likely be a smooth one. A partial federal government shutdown that started at midnight Dec. 22, 2018 — largely over funding levels for a protective wall at our southern border with Mexico – looms over the new Congress. The President would like $5 billion in new funding for the wall and Democrats set sights on a number far less.
